B: Born in the U.S.A.

“Born in the U.S.A.
I’m a cool rocking daddy in the U.S.A.”

Bruce Springsteen and this song were HUGE in 1985. And the album cover features one of the most well known rear ends in all of music, second only to the other ’80s mega star, George Michael!

I was never a big Bruce fan, but the Born in the U.S.A. album produced some mega hits, like Glory Days, I’m on Fire, and the album title, Born in the U.S.A. Also, as a kid I never got the political lyrics of the song. I just thought it was a song about being born in the U.S.A. At least I wasn’t as clueless as a high school friend of mine who thought Madonna’s Borderline was about property lines! True story!

Here is the song that propelled Bruce Springsteen into one of the biggest star’s of the ’80s.
